2008 featured an Eco Village, with workshops and discussions by leading environmental speakers (an early blooming of The Planet Talks perhaps?), waterless urinals as part of our sustainability program, Artist in Conversation sessions on a new stage in Speakers Corner and Lonely Planet authors joined forces with SBS.

Stage 3 relocated.

Highlights: Mavis Staples, Cesaria Evora’s band (she wasn't personally able to perform due to falling ill while on tour in Sydney) and Sharon Jones & the Dap-Kings stepping in to fill Cesaria’s headline spot. Taraf de Haidouks, Toumani Diabate’s Symmetric Orchestra, Black Grace Dance, Billy Cobham Septet, Kutcha Edwards, and the John Butler Trio.
