Bangarra Dance Theatre
Australia
Terrain
One of Australia’s leading performing arts companies, Bangarra Dance Theatre is a group of professional Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander performers who share their culture through theatre. They are powerful storytellers, fire makers and dancers, drawing on 65,000 years of culture to create iconic works of theatre with dance, music, poetry and design. They return to WOMADelaide after 24 years to perform Terrain, a breathtaking exploration of Australia’s largest salt lake, Kati Thanda (Lake Eyre). Choreographed by Artistic Director Frances Rings, Terrain highlights the ancestral ties that bind people to Country. Watch the waters rise and fall as the dancers reconnect with the energy of land and the resilient spirit of the people who care for it.
