Taiwu Ancient Ballads Troupe
Taiwan
What began in 2002 as a passion for music teacher Camake Valaule to document and pass down through oral accounts the traditional songs of the Paiwan Indigenous tribes, has turned into the realisation of a dream. Now an 18-strong children’s choir and band, the Troupe has unveiled more than 40 ancient songs of love, work and ceremonies. Their pure vocals and performances have been described as “heavenly music that allows one to see the mountains and hear the breeze”.
