As an eight year old, Senator Penny Wong moved to Australia with her family, settling in Adelaide where she now lives with her partner and two daughters. Penny was elected to the Senate in 2001 and in 2007 was appointed Minister for Climate Change and Water and later Minister for Finance and Deregulation. In 2013 Penny was the first woman to be appointed Leader of the Government in the Senate and following the change of government first woman to be Leader of the Opposition in the Senate. Penny is now Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs.
