MONDAY - Adani, Coal Wars and the National Interest
Dr Quentin Beresford has had a diverse career in academia, the public service and journalism. He is the author/co-author of twelve books including Rites of Passage: Aboriginal Youth Crime and Justice (1996); and Our State of Mind: Racial Planning and the Stolen Generations (1998) which won the WA Premier's prize for non-fiction; and the multi-award winning biography of the national Aboriginal leader Rob Riley, Rob Riley: An Aboriginal Leader’s Quest for Justice (2006). In recent years he has specialised in writing on corruption in the resources sector, authoring The Rise and Fall of Gunns Ltd (2015), which won the Tasmanian Premier's non-fiction prize and, most recently, Adani and the War over Coal (2018). He has lectured widely on his research both in Australia and the United States. He is professor of politics at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Western Australia where he has taught for nearly 30 years.
