Bush Mechanics: The Exhibition
The light-hearted Bush Mechanics TV show reached millions of people in the early 2000s, following five young Warlpiri men as they travelled through remote outback Australia using nyurulypa (good tricks) to fix and keep their vehicles running. Where spanners, trolley jacks, mechanics and workshops were hard to come by mulga, spinifex and sand become tools and spare parts!
This award-winning travelling exhibition of immersive technology, gaming and interactive screens – and even one of the original cars – explores the unique storytelling style of Warlpiri music, art and culture.
