samba parade and workshops

On Sunday evening at WOMADelaide, hundreds of kids and adults join a colourful and noisy procession as it snakes around the Park.

Throughout the weekend, in the lead-up to the Parade, Melbourne artist Amanda King will lead workshops in the big tent in KidZone to make items that can be carried or worn in the Parade - including Samba Kings and Queens costumes, in bright green and pink, with lots of gold and silver.

About 40 local percussionists, under Musical Directors Joel Prime and Ben Todd, will keep the beat of the Parade.

Adelaide's Brazil Dance Academy will also lead a dance workshop before the parade, to make sure that everyone is ready to samba!
