Getting Involved

How can I perform at WOMADelaide?

Applications for the 2014 festival will be open from 1 April-1 August 2013. Click here for details.

How do I get a stall?

Online food, retail and charity stallholder applications will open in August and close in November 2013.  A selection process will happen during November and applicants will be advised of their success or otherwise by email in December.
We do not contact previous successful/unsuccessful stallholders individually so if you would like to be kept up to date with stalls information and deadlines, please subscribe the monthly WOMADelaide e newsletter.

I'm a student doing an assignment on WOMADelaide, where can I find info?

Refer to Summary and History PDF. Please note that we do not have the time to answer additional, individual questions from students.

How can I get a job at the festival?

Generally speaking, we fill our contract positions at least 6 months before the festival with experienced staff, and do not advertise.  There are no job opportunities available for the 2013 festival but if you have extensive marketing, production or event management skills and are interested in expressing your interest in working on the 2014 festival, email a letter and CV to us between May and August 2013.

How can I volunteer at the festival?

Volunteer applications are now closed.
Successful applicants only will be notified by approximately the end of January 2013.
Please note that applications generally far outweigh available positions, so unfortunately not everyone can be given a position.
If you are interested in volunteering at WOMADelaide 2014, the volunteer application form will be available on-line from October this year.

Can I do my tertiary course industry placement in the lead-up to the festival?

We are unable to offer any more placements in the lead-up to the 2013 festival.  For future reference, we are able to take on a few people, generally in the January-March period, but only if they are studying or have recently completed studies in event/site/production management, or journalism/marketing/publicity.  The deadline for sending in an expression of interest for the 2014 festival will be 1 September.

Can I get work experience at WOMADelaide?

Unless you are doing a relevant tertiary course (see above) we do not accept high school students or others for work experience.

How can I get media accreditation for covering the festival?

Media accreditation applications will be available online from October 2012. There are a limited number of media passes available for accredited media only. All media pass requests and subsequent approval will be reliant on pre-festival coverage generated.
