Youssou N'Dour to run for Senegalese elections

Senegalese superstar Youssou N'Dour has announced he will be running for president in the upcoming Senegalese elections.

Originally announced as part of the line up for WOMADelaide 2012, the 52 year old singer was forced to pull out of all musicial commitments in the lead up to the elections, it was then that rumours began circulating about his candidacy. Heavily involved in politics for some time now, N'Dour has emerged as the main contender to stand against controversial leader Abdoulaye Wade.
