The big grasslands and bigger skies of Mongolia inspire Hanggai’s sprawling crossover style. While born from the Chinese punk scene, this six-piece band remains true to its Mongolian roots. Traditional songs now boast programmed beats and electric guitars beneath tsuur flute, horsehead fiddle and the chilling drones of overtone singing.
