Young Wägilak Group (Australia)

The Young Wägilak Group from Ngukurr in south east Arnhem Land, led by Benjamin Wilfred, has emerged out of the Australian Art Orchestra’s Crossing Roper Bar series – collaborations since 2004 that have created a contemporary rendering of the Manikay (song cycles) of the Yolngu of Arhnem Land, among the oldest musical traditions on the planet.
