Important Information
Please read before applying
WOMADelaide 2023 will be held Friday 10 – Monday 13 March in Botanic Park, in inner city Adelaide, South Australia.
The festival, which began in 1992, features 7 open-air stages with around 100 music and dance performances, plus street theatre/site installation artists, workshops, the Taste the World cooking program, The Planet Talks environmental discussions, a KidZone and more. See https://www.womadelaide.com.au/archive for previous lineups. Broadly speaking, we present traditional and contemporary, original music (not covers) of a high standard. Commercial rock, opera and R&B are not usually featured and a strong live show is an important consideration.
The lineup, of around 60+ groups from across the world and Australia, is selected/curated by the festival office based in Adelaide. If we invite you to perform, we provide a performance fee, return flights and arrange visas (if applicable) plus local accommodation, production/technical, marketing/publicity and ground transport. For artists being toured by another promoter, we provide a delivered/landed fee to the promoter plus local accommodation, production/technical, marketing/publicity and ground transport. The promoter is responsible for flights and visas.
WOMADelaide also produces/delivers the international artist lineup to WOMAD New Zealand, which is held the weekend after WOMADelaide in New Plymouth, NZ.
Lineup announcements for the festivals are usually mid October and late November.
