WOMADELAIDE 2001 program highlights
  David Bridie (Australia)
Weaving the Australian landscape, both in physical and political forms, David Bridie (ARIA award winner) has enjoyed a prolific recorded career.  Having scored several movie soundtracks, he is also no stranger to marrying music with film.  A few of his feature film credits include Idiot Box, That Eye The Sky, Proof and Hammers Over The Anvil.  He has also been involved in numerous documentary films and television productions.  His appreciation of sound quality versus song structure has always yielded its own unique and beautiful fruit. As described by David himself… “There’s a whole picture you can paint with music that’s interesting in itself.”  His unique ability to make his audiences weep, laugh, swallow hard, smile at the sun, fall in love and know just how rich and poor – life is, is one that has acclaimed him the status of being one of the best songwriter our southern lands has to offer.
